EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Odunsi (The Engine) was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on June 7, 1996.
Growing up in Lagos, he was influenced by R&B musicians such as Donell Jones, Sade, Prince, and King Sunny Ade, largely due to his older brother’s taste in music.
Although he had a good relationship with his siblings, he often felt lonely during his teenage years and ultimately dropped out of school in 2015 because of challenges related to A.D.H.D., which later became a source of inspiration for his music.
CAREER
While in high school, Odunsi and his friends began to experiment with music, writing songs in class before he embarked on a professional music career in 2015, initially working as a record producer and rapper before transitioning to singing.
His first single, “Vibrate,” was released in 2016, followed by “Happy Hour” featuring Okuntakinte, which garnered attention from the Mobo Awards.
He continued to release singles and collaborations, culminating in his debut studio album, “Time Of Our Lives,” released that same year.
His second studio album, “Rare,” achieved success and included collaborations with artists like Davido, Amaarae, and Nasty C.
In 2020, he launched his third studio album, “EVERYTHING YOU HEARD IS TRUE.”
