The gunmen that kidnapped the Catholic Rector, Rev. Fr. Thomas Oyode, has demanded for N200 million ransom for his release.
Recall that the gunmen attacked Immaculate conception Minor seminary where they abducted the Reverend Father Oyode.
The kidnappers contacted the Catholic Diocese of Auchi, led by Bishop Gabriel Dunia on Monday evening, demanding for N200 million ransom.
A source stated, “On Monday evening, the kidnappers contacted the Auchi Catholic Diocese and asked them to pay N200 million if they want them to release the priest.
“As of Monday, negotiation with the kidnappers was yet to commence and I don’t know if the Catholic family will discuss it.”
The Director of Communications of the Catholic Diocese of Auchi, Rev. Fr. Peter Egielewa confirmed that the kidnappers actually called to demand for the ransom.
